Geographie

Der Bezirk hat eine Fläche von 1749 Quadratkilometern, davon sind 24 km² (0,53 %) Wasserfläche. Er ist in drei Townships eingeteilt: Argentine, Provo und Robins; sowie zwei unorganisierte Territorien: Northeast Fall River und Southwest Fall River.

Geschichte

Das County wurde am 3. April 1883 gegründet und nach den Wasserfällen (eng.: „Falls“) und Stromschnellen in der Region benannt, wobei die Bezeichnung aus der Sioux-Sprache übernommen wurde.cite-ref-3[3]

Ein Ort im County hat den Status einer National Historic Landmark, das National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.cite-ref-4[4] 72 Bauwerke und Stätten des Countys sind im National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eingetragen (Stand 31. Juli 2018).cite-ref-5[5]
